Quinn Maarse Vice President, Investment Development

What I love about Turn/River is the “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality and operations-first approach. We don’t claim to have a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we leverage our deep understanding of a specific market and pair it with our data-driven experimentation process to identify the best solution for each unique environment.

If we ever stop learning or asking questions — we’re doing it all wrong. I’m thrilled to join a team that lives this philosophy. Turn/River goes beyond claims and walks the walk in a sea of value propositions. We understand scaling isn’t just about capital; it’s about empowering your people and optimizing your Go To Market strategy.

I started my career as a management consultant working with investment banks in New York City, which taught me adaptability and quick thinking, fine-tuning my ability to navigate complex situations with senior stakeholders. After three years of consulting, I joined a boutique software investment bank in San Francisco — diving headfirst into the world of software M&A. Over five and a half years, I advised on over 20 transactions totaling more than $4 billion in aggregate deal value.

What I love about Turn/River is the “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality and operations-first approach. We don’t claim to have a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we leverage our deep understanding of a specific market and pair it with our data-driven experimentation process to seek to identify the best solution for each unique environment. It’s a collaborative approach built on continuous learning and improvement.

Witnessing the passion and drive of our portfolio companies, both prospective and current, is incredibly rewarding. Each day at Turn/River presents an opportunity to dive into software solutions, explore diverse markets, and collaborate with remarkable teams. As a self-proclaimed software enthusiast, this role is nirvana! Meaningful partnerships thrive on personal connection and a dash of levity. After all, who says software can’t be fun?
